Exposició "Suro i futur. Dissenyant possibilitats"

The exhibition "Suro i futur. Dissenyant possibilitats" shows how cork can have applications in fields as diverse as cosmetics, architecture, sustainable construction, or natural water treatment. All with a clear objective: to harness the potential of a renewable, local material with great environmental value. Among the highlighted projects are the proposals from the company Quimivita, which bets on sustainable cosmetics with products made from cork. On one hand, Exfobreeze, a natural exfoliant made with microgranulated cork; and on the other, UpCork Aox, an ingredient rich in natural antioxidants designed to improve skin firmness and hydration. The exhibition also features the participation of the Institut d'Arquitectura Avançada de Catalunya (IAAC), which investigates new ways to use recycled and underutilized cork in architecture and construction. At the show, one can see cork composite panels with sustainable materials and even a construction demonstrator with robotics and cork. On its part, the Institut Català del Suro presents projects related to natural water treatment through vegetative systems such as constructed wetlands, green roofs, or green facades, where cork byproducts act as a biosorbent element.
