Exposició "Suro i futur. Dissenyant possibilitats"

The exhibition "Cork and future. Designing possibilities" shows how cork can have applications in fields as diverse as cosmetics, architecture, sustainable construction, or the natural purification of water. All with a clear objective: to exploit the potential of a renewable, local material with great environmental value. Among the highlighted projects are the proposals from the company Quimivita, which bets on sustainable cosmetics with products made from cork. On one hand, Exfobreeze, a natural exfoliant made with microgranulated cork; and on the other, UpCork Aox, an ingredient rich in natural antioxidants designed to improve skin firmness and hydration. The exhibition also features the participation of the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), which investigates new ways to use recycled and low-yield cork in architecture and construction. At the show, one can see cork composite plates with sustainable materials and even a construction demonstrator with robotics and cork. On its part, the Catalan Cork Institute presents projects related to the natural purification of water through vegetative systems such as constructed wetlands, green roofs, or vegetative facades, where cork by-products act as a biosorbent element.
