Exposició "Suro i futur. Dissenyant possibilitats"

The exhibition "Suro i futur. Dissenyant possibilitats" shows how cork can have applications in fields as diverse as cosmetics, architecture, sustainable construction, or natural water treatment. All with a clear objective: to exploit the potential of a renewable, local material with great environmental value. Among the highlighted projects are the proposals from the company Quimivita, which bets on sustainable cosmetics with products made from cork. On one hand, Exfobreeze, a natural exfoliant made with microgranulated cork; and on the other, UpCork Aox, a natural antioxidant-rich ingredient designed to improve skin firmness and hydration. The exhibition also features the participation of the Institut d'Arquitectura Avançada de Catalunya (IAAC), which investigates new ways to use recycled and low-yield cork in architecture and construction. At the show, one can see cork composite plates with sustainable materials and even a construction demonstrator with robotics and cork. On its part, the Institut Català del Suro presents projects related to natural water treatment through vegetative systems such as constructed wetlands, green roofs, or green facades, where cork by-products act as a biosorbent element.
