Vox Luminis, Freiburger Barockorchester & Meunier

La Misa en Si menor holds a special place in the history of the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Orfeó Català; on November 1, 1911, the choir performed the work for the first time in Spain, one of the major milestones of its early years. More than a century later, this key work by Bach returns to the modernist stage with two ensembles that have already left their mark on the house precisely with the composer's music. Vox Luminis and the Freiburger Barockorchester join forces under the direction of Lionel Meunier, founder of Vox Luminis, who will conduct from the choir, of which he is also a member as a singer. A combination that promises a particularly powerful Mass, with a choir made up of authentic soloists, some of whom will also take on the solo parts of the work. Two ensembles specializing in Bach reunite to meet a score closely linked to the musical history of the Palau.
