Polifonía - Conversaciones en torno al canto coral

Polifonía - Conversations around choral singing Choral conducting masters and accompanying pianists With POLIFONÍA we approach the richness of choral singing in the Catalan Countries from the very beginning at the Palau de la Música Catalana. The Rehearsal Hall of the Orfeó Català, where the cornerstone of the Palau lies and from where the foundational meaning of the institution branches out: choral singing and the centrality of its artistic and social practice. Through a series of dialogues led by journalist and communicator Pere-Andreu Jariod, we will learn from the protagonists themselves a polyhedral perspective that will allow us to conclude that choral singing is deeply rooted in Catalan culture and in the very reason for being, specifically, of the Palau de la Música Catalana. Regarding the choral conducting masters: vocal technique applied to the choir: how a healthy, flexible and integrated voice is built within the choral ensemble. Pedagogical work with singers of different levels and the relationship between technique and expressivity. Current challenges in vocal training. As for the accompanying pianists: their discreet yet fundamental role, both in rehearsal and in the concert. Throughout the conversation we will discover what qualities this profile must have, the synergy with the conductor or the female conductor, and their help in tuning and repertoire work.
