Published in 2018, Permagel by Eva Baltasar became a literary phenomenon thanks to a direct, lucid voice full of black humor capable of addressing taboo themes without filters, such as desire, motherhood, or suicide.
This work is the long-awaited theatrical adaptation of the great literary success by Eva Baltasar. The story invites us to enter the mind of a lesbian woman who decides to challenge family mandates, romantic love, and the very idea of survival. The protagonist, portrayed by Maria Rodríguez Soto, clings to reading and sex as life-saving anchors while navigating between lucidity, fear, and a deep desire for freedom. With a poetic and painful voice, the production seeks to break the symbolic permafrost that keeps us distant from real life, offering an experience that is equally unsettling and moving through an unfiltered gaze into the human interior. This theatre piece uses strobe lights and smoke effects.
