Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya & Brotons

Salvador Brotons takes the helm of the Orquestra Simfònica de Barcelona i Nacional de Catalunya to present his Fourth Symphony, "Sacra," to the European public. The European premiere of one of his most important works is the main attraction of a programme that offers a glimpse into Brotons' creative universe, featuring a style that is approachable and close to the listener, and that places him alongside two prominent names in Catalan music: Eduard Toldrà and Ricard Lamote de Grignon. Works by Toldrà, Empúries, one of the few large-scale compositions by the composer from Vilanova i la Geltrú, and by Lamote de Grignon, the Fantasía sobre temas del maestro Serrano, are performed. Thus, three perspectives on Catalan musical creation converge in a single programme, with Brotons in his dual role as composer and conductor, and featuring the participation of the Cor de Cambra del Palau de la Música Catalana and the Cor Bruckner Barcelona.
