The Staatskapelle Dresden, under the direction of the prestigious conductor Daniele Gatti, will be the protagonist of an exceptional series of four concerts dedicated to the complete symphonies of Ludwig van Beethoven. On this occasion, the programme will have as its central axis the monumental Ninth Symphony, one of the most transcendent works in the history of music. Composed between 1822 and 1824, it has become a universal hymn to fraternity among peoples. The vocal parts will be performed by the Orfeó Català, one of the leading choral ensembles of the country with a centenary trajectory, and the Cor de Cambra del Palau de la Música Catalana. The programme will be completed with the performance of Symphony No. 8, a piece that combines classical refinement and innovative spirit and stands out for its structural clarity. The concert will also include a new orchestration by the German composer Jörg Widmann as part of the new creations that will accompany the journey through Beethoven's nine symphonies.
