Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra & Peltokoski

At just twenty-six years old, Tarmo Peltokoski has become one of the names that generate the most anticipation among the new generation of European directors. The young Finnish director debuts in Catalonia leading the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, one of the great symphony orchestras of Asia, with a programme that puts two very different universes into dialogue: the most intense and dramatic Mozart and the symphonic breadth of the Romantic Bruckner. Mozart's Piano Concerto No. 24, one of the few concert works the composer wrote in a minor key, shows a particularly intense and expressive Mozart. The spotlight falls on Martin Helmchen, a German pianist with a solid international career and a regular guest of distinguished European orchestras and concert halls. Beside him, Peltokoski and the Hong Kong Philharmonic will unfold one of Bruckner's most popular symphonies, Symphony No. 4, "Romantic", a work of great sonic horizons that has become one of the privileged gateways to the universe of the Austrian composer. Mozart and Bruckner, two composers separated by almost a century, thus converge in a concert that combines the discovery of a baton in full projection with the experience of a consolidated pianist and the power of one of the reference orchestras of the Asian continent.
