Emmanuelle Haïm & Le Concert d’Astrée

Emmanuelle Haïm, founder of the ensemble Le Concert d'Astrée, which she has directed since 2000, returns to BCN Clásicos to perform Georg Friedrich Händel's El Mesías on her third consecutive visit. Internationally recognized for her elegance and precision in the baroque repertoire, Haïm has brought Le Concert d'Astrée to the world's most prestigious halls and festivals and has established a reference trajectory in historicist performance. El Mesías is one of the most important works in the baroque repertoire and one of the most famous oratorios in the history of music. Its combination of choir, soloists, and orchestra creates an emotional and spiritual universe that has captivated audiences worldwide since its premiere in 1742. The work will feature four reference singers: Lucy Crowe (soprano), Carlo Vistoli (countertenor), Lunga Eric Hallam (tenor), and Ashley Riches (bass).
