La jove Aïda

The young Aïda reinvents Verdi between virtual reality, retrofuturism, and contemporary emotion. The young Aïda offers a reinterpretation of Verdi's emblematic Aida with musical arrangements that combine the essence of the original opera with new compositions. Exploring the permeability of the boundaries between reality and fiction, the dramaturgy of La jove Aïda places us in a virtual world in which Aina, the young protagonist of this story, appropriates the conflicts and emotions of the characters of Verdi's opera and takes us to reflect on what is real in what we live in fictions and what is fictional in what we live in reality. A technological and audiovisual staging that recreates the retrofuturistic aesthetic of the first video games and at the same time allows reinterpretation from a contemporary perspective of the legendary set design that Josep Mestres Cabanes created in 1945 at the Liceu for the opera Aida.
