Inés attends the Pilar vigil, who decides to leave her house as an inheritance without having ever met her and without informing Leo, her granddaughter. Together they will discover a past they did not know, reopening old family wounds that date back to Pilar's childhood during the last months of the Civil War and her youth in the Femenina Section. How much weight do emotional inheritances carry, those that no one claims, but that suffer through generations? Not only the process of writing to Pilar, our protagonist, but also my own memories of the stories my grandmother told me accompanied me throughout the writing process. Her "I: See, feel, and stay silent," so often said to my mother, my sisters, and me, is something that, although it does not belong to me directly, continues to live through me. Similar inheritances accompany the four characters of this work. Pilar, an elderly woman who is only capable of facing life in her own vigil. Marisol, who flees to find a place to free herself from guilt. Llegeixo, who travels the world escaping the desire to have a home. Inés, who, in her obsession to investigate the past, expects to understand herself. In reality, they all search for that place they imagine. Some call it freedom.
