Saeta

A saeta sounds, on stage there is a crown of white flowers, someone appears carrying a coffin and the voice of a spirit is heard... Everything collapses, nothing is what it seems in this tragicomedy. The theatre game allows us to be what we are not, inhabit unknown places and times, and live experiences beyond our reality. For this to happen, we must take it seriously. We must sanctify the stage space, put our banalities aside, demolish our limits, let ourselves be swept away by the current of the stage game and flow until its tragic end. In a tribute to theatre in different forms, this work reflects on the role of the actor, the deep meaning of their craft, the essence of theatre and on how theatre intertwines with life itself. The characters exist only here, in that space and at that moment; and, just as the actor gives life to the characters, it is they on whom the work depends, in an eternal reminder of the interdependence between creator, creation and the living act of theatre.
