An adaptation of the award-winning Juan Mayorga based on the novel El coloquio de los perros by Cervantes. In Palabra de perro, Juan Mayorga reprises Cipión and Berganza, the dogs who acquire the gift of speech, to turn them into lucid observers of human behaviour. Through their dialogue, these characters reveal with irony and sharpness the contradictions, weaknesses and petty vices that are part of our daily life. Voice and word become the central axis of the work, an instrument that allows questioning who has the right to speak the truth and how perceptions of justice, falsehood and morality are constructed. Between humour, criticism and reflection, Mayorga invites us to look at the world from an alien but deeply human perspective, where dogs become mirrors of our own behaviour and show us what we often do not want to see. Thus, Palabra de perro is a theatre proposal that blends tradition and modernity, with incisive language and a critical gaze that awakens reflection on society and on ourselves.
