Les Anxovetes

Les Anxovetes also sing sardanes. This new choral sardanist repertoire, arranged by composer Xavi Molina and produced by Festival Càntut, is designed to be sung and played simultaneously while the audience dances in the square. The sardanes performed respect the traditional structure of the sardana dance (introit, curts, llargs, contrapunt...). The objective is for the audience to be able to dance the sardanes while they are performed. Some of the pieces in the repertoire are La Maria de les trenes, L'Empordà, El sereno and La puntaire. Activity included in Programa.cat, aid promoted by the Department of Culture of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the Diputacions of Barcelona, Girona, Lleida and Tarragona.
