The promise
All the information and the best tickets for the theatre show 'La promesa' at the Teatre Borràs in Barcelona.
A comedy written by Yago Alonso and Silvia Navarro and directed by Pau Roca that will bring to light the secrets of a group of friends. What happens when you forget who you are? What happens when all the memories of your youth become a devastating mirror? A group of friends find themselves at a 1990s-themed party that will change their lives. Hits of the era, alcohol, hilarious costumes. Amid it all, Paula, the hostess of the house, has decided to poison them all. Why? An irreverent comedy with a macabre countdown to save their lives. An impossible scavenger hunt where the prize is to reconnect with the promise you made to yourself. A group of friends find themselves at a 90s-themed party that will change their lives. I've read comments like: "Marvellous, it was a great time," "It's worth people coming," "I loved it, super-fun, we laughed non-stop," "The time flew by," "I promise I'll do it again." My opinion and response to the previous comments: A bit of fun for a good time. Is it worth it? I didn't love it, it's not super-funny and I didn't laugh the whole time. As for the time... I found myself clock-watching, which I almost never do. I won't be going back. I did laugh a lot at Marc Rodríguez's performance. For me, the best part of the play. I won't name names, but I saw some performances that were fine, others that were unconvincing and others that were over the top. Very uneven. Although the themes it touches on have a social and critical background, the kind that invites us to reflect, such as the abuse and lack of protection of workers in some companies, the non-compliance with laws or labour precarity. The script is rather weak and unconvincing, nothing like other successful comedies by Yago Alonso such as La Piel Fina or Ovelles. I haven't seen the performance. It was cancelled. Awaiting contact. The first half an hour was very good, the rest was weak. The performance was cancelled due to an actor's illness. They strongly advised me at the Greek theatre to get my money back.Juan Colomar Bailo has not lived up to expectations… the actors are very good but the play's script doesn't hold up very well… despite the actors' efforts to make us laugh, it felt long and tedious. The actors are first-rate but I didn't like the comedy plot. It's nothing special. The rapport between the actors. A whole afternoon, very good…worth seeing this play. Fun and dynamic, highly recommended. The ideological slant against entrepreneurs. Excellent acting, entertaining and biting, it seems to criticise wokism but ends up delivering a complacent moral lesson. Despite the
