Exposició "El martiri de les campanes"

Exhibition framed within the "Juliol de 1936" cycle. Within the context of the systematic destruction of religious artistic and architectural heritage, the ringing of bells played a special symbolic role at the start of the Spanish Civil War (1936-1939). In this exhibition, remains of the bells of Santa Maria (fragments and bells) and also the surviving quarter bell from 1937 are displayed.
