An old woman and her adult son live in a precarious apartment in the heart of Copenhagen. Day to day, they feel they are at risk of being suffocated by such revolting and maddening bitterness. But suddenly, one winter afternoon, they will be besieged by ghosts of the past, by ancient tragedies that will haunt and shake them.
