Second of their artistic residency concerts at the Enric Granados Auditori. @tatevikkhachatryanviolinist 🎻 @laiapuigcello 🎹 @albaclassics The Trio Freixas brings together three musicians with a brilliant national and international trajectory, united by the will to delve into the chamber repertoire and disseminate the fascinating and unknown repertoire of female composers. The Trio Freixas is formed by violinist Tatevik Khachatryan, cellist Laia Puig and pianist Alba Ventura, three interpreters who have usually collaborated together offering concerts and recitals throughout the national territory. The formation wants to pay tribute to the composer and music educator Narcisa Freixas (1859-1926), a prominent educator and social activist who promoted the education of women and children and fought actively for the improvement of the living conditions of the most disadvantaged. Freixas founded the entity Popular Musical Culture (1908) to promote Catalan and Spanish popular music and fought for music education to reach all social classes, organizing numerous cultural events in workers' centres, hospitals and prisons, with the aim of giving access to music to children from humble families. As a composer, her works for children stand out. The Trio Freixas offered their debut at the Barcelona Obertura festival in March 2023 and since then has performed at L'Auditori de Barcelona, Lleida, Cervera, Sabadell, CaixaFòrum de Tarragona and Saragossa, among others.
